Friday! You're Here!

Good Morning Dear Ones :)
Hope you are excited about Friday as much as I am!  Best day, this week, because today I get to choose my winner for my 100 follower giveaway.  Entries are due at Noon (California time!)
So here we go...

Hosted by Ginger @ gReads
This Friday's Question:
Character Envy:
If you could be one character from a book,
who would you choose & why?
Totally easy question! Duh!
Um...that's Bella Swan, by the way, from the Twilight Saga...just in case you couldn't figure it out. : )
And, why, you ask?
Uh, two pretty hot little reasons:
Can you say "Edward" and "Jacob"?
{{devilish grin}}
But, seriously, I remember being like Bella when I was a teenager...unsure about love and my life.  And then {{BAM!}} everything went clear...
and at just the prefect time for me...
right when the "teens" were over - the day I turned 20!

Night Out
these two photos found on girl with curves...
I am *loving* the belted cardigan/jacket look!
I want to *definitely* try it when it gets cooler (in the Fall) or on a cool summer night by the beach...
{{sigh}} looks like heaven to me : )

Hosted by Erika @ rouge & whimsy
What has you feeling grateful this week?
Actually, the question for me this week is "WHO has you feeling grateful this week?"

My 100 (and 7 ! ) Followers...and 28-ish subscribers...
I love knowing you, meeting you on here, and reading your comments, blogs, your stories...just about everything!
A week ago or so, Dear Amber posted about who would be interested in doing a Guest Post.  So I emailed her and voila ( ! ), I sent her my very first ever guest post entry!
Yay!  Thanks for the opportunity Amber!

Miss Lena mentioned my giveaway on her bloggy!  So sweet!  And I absolutely felt humbled by it : ) I feel as though I've found a bloggy friend in her...
Chocolate Pudding Cups!
Because this weekend, this ingredient is going to help make the best yummily moist cupcakes for the kids!
My kids...
they leave me speechless and take my breath away with all the love they give me...
These two gorgeous creatures are...
....well, mine!  And that makes everything worthwhile : )

Hope your Friday is Happy!
Winner announced a lil later : )
Good Luck!

The Joy of . . . Quilting, Baby!

This week's Talented Woman is...
~@~ Michelle ~@~
So many women I work with have exceptional talent : ) Michelle is no exception!
Her art (and absolute joy) of quilting is amazing to me...I love to hear the stories about all the sewing she does and the enthusiasm she has for it.

Quilting takes so much patience, too!  I have never sown anything in my entire life, but to hear how she starts a quilt (all the cutting, piecing together, sewing, fixing...) takes my breath away.  And, as she has told me many times, it makes her feel good, relaxed, happy - isn't that the point to every little thing we do?  The satisfaction and joy from completing a task and being good at it?  That fact, the love she has for the process, and the end results are captivating.

I know it's warm (okay, a little sweltering in some areas) out there, but don't you just want to snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa (don't forget the loads of marshmallows ! ), a good book, and one of these quilts?!

Thanks so very much, Sweet Michelle, for sharing this with me and everyone here.  See you soon (like, in a couple of minutes, right?)
: )

Pesto Please!

I italian food!

Everything about italian food makes me gush with happiness.  There's just something about food covered in tomato sauce and cheese or my ultimate fave:

I have never ever ever made pesto...but that doesn't stop me from devouring it whenever I get a chance.
And it doesn't matter how I eat it either.  Whether it be a cold pasta a sandwich....linguini/penne/fetuccini with pesto...or the peruvian version called salsa verde...I am not biased whatsoever
I am an equal opportunity pesto eater!

Case in point...I went to a delightful little italian deli today at lunch.
Happiness beyond compare because along with my veggie panini, I got a serving of the pesto pasta salad.  I only ate half the panini and a bite of the pasta salad...
Why would I do this to myself?
To have it for dinner tonight, of course!

So, if anyone out there has an easy-speasy pesto recipe...lemme know!

Rock That Body!

I want to get up & "shake it" just listening to this song!  But I think people at work might get just a tiny bit shocked if I stood up from my cubicle and started rockin' what my mama gave me, right?! : )

So the next best thing? Listening to this song and sharing stuff with you that I think *ROCKS* : )

Being a girl with curves and being a tad bit voluptuous can be daunting.  It's taken me a while to feel comfortable in my body and know how to dress with the extra pounds.  But I have plenty of inspiration through wonderfully fashionista girlfriends and these two blogs I just love:

My very fashionista girlfriend in Lima, Fiorella, started a blog a month or so ago called "Divina Ejecutiva" (Beautiful/Divine Executive).  Not only does she touch on topics of time management and anti-anxiety for the career woman, she also gives you ideas of what to wear (no matter your size), how to accessorize, and build a great wardrobe.  Her bloggy is in Spanish, but I think we all can appreciate looking at the photos she takes of her "looks of the week":

To see more, go to Divina Ejecutiva...

and another blog I just recently found is of
Everyday she has the greatest looks for women with curves...I like to get new ideas from her and, sometimes, she has me thinking, "I have one of those! Now I know what to put it together with..."
My favorite part is that there's a tab called Outfits so you can see every single outfit!  Here are some that she put together:

June 2011
February 2011
Check out Tanesha's blog at girl with curves - you'll be happy you did!

Now go out and ♫ rock your body ♫ - even if you can't jump out of your cubicle to do so!  It's all in the spirit and heart, so smile like nobody's watchin'!

Happy Monday!

Starbucks Mocha Frapuccino...had a sip and it was addiction to coffee begins...
032~Writing -
Writing...started to impress a boy that I could write poems too...and then I just couldn't stop...boy left, but the writing never did...
First Date...went for a burger and spilled every single drop of chili on my top...mortified...but the burger was not so much
First book I couldn't put first book to devour, but not my last.
First movie I balled my eyes out in...The Champ (1979)...
First blog

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and I hope you remember all your good *firsts*

Perfectly Said...

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle.
But if you can't handle me at my worst,
then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

(Marilyn Monroe)

Book Review: French Lessons

Front Cover

"A single day in Paris changes the lives of three Americans as they each set off to explore the city with a French tutor, learning about language, love, and loss as their lives intersect in surprising ways.
Josie, Riley, and Jeremy have come to the City of Light for different reasons: Josie, a young high school teacher, arrives in hopes of healing a broken heart. Riley, a spirited but lonely expat housewife, struggles to feel connected to her husband and her new country. And Jeremy, the reserved husband of a renowned actress, is accompanying his wife on a film shoot, yet he feels distant from her world.
As they meet with their tutors—Josie with Nico, a sensitive poet; Riley with Phillippe, a shameless flirt; and Jeremy with the consummately beautiful Chantal—each succumbs to unexpected passion and unpredictable adventures. Yet as they traverse Paris’s grand boulevards and intimate, winding streets, they uncover surprising secrets about one another—and come to understand long-buried truths about themselves."
(from GoogleReads)

Um...can you say "sexy"?
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up - no need for a full review - want "sexy"? read this book...
: ) I wouldn't do that to's what I think...

French Lessons was a quick quick read, even for someone with my schedule.  Set with the back-drop of sexy, sultry, and, sometimes, stormy Paris, you meet three exquisite couples.  Not ordinary couples, but students and their French tutors.
My favorite pairing had to be Nico and Josie, but Riley (the student with Phillippe) had me bursting out laughing *a lot*.  The book's premise of loss (from a lover's death to the love for your life partner and yourself) holds true throughout the well, as the sexual tension, encounters, and, um...description.  At times, I was like, "wow, you can do that?!"...and thinking I was reading some erotica, but Sussman brings everything back reminding you that it's not just sex.  It is love...just in different forms.
And the ending?  It made me smile...  The ending of each of their "lessons"?  I got closure, which is nice....I wasn't wondering - "what happens with....?" and "what's he going to do with...?"  It was all right there for the reader to see.

I'm pretty content with the book...
yup, that's about I give it "3 out of 4 stars"...that's fair.
